EDUCATION 365: Reading Recovery Teacher - Greenwich


Reading Recovery Teacher required from 1st September 2013. 

Temporary Post: Main Pay Scale fixed term until 31st August 2014 in the first instance. Minimum three years experience teaching the primary age phase

We are seeking to appoint an experienced primary teacher as a Reading Recovery teacher and lead the Every Child a Reader project in our school. Reading Recovery is well established at the school and they were accredited with the ECaR standard last year. The current ECaR teacher has been shortlisted for the National Reading Recovery Awards. We are now looking for someone to develop the role further from this solid foundation.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and creative teacher with a commitment to developing children's reading. You must be ambitious for our fantastic children and want to share your love of teaching reading with colleagues and parents. Comprehensive training and professional development will be given as part of our commitment to the Reading Recovery programme.

We are looking for someone who is able to hit the ground running and who teaches for the right reasons: children only get one chance for a great start to their education. * Be an outstanding teacher, to enable their children to make excellent progress;
* Have a range of effective positive behaviour management skills;
* Have a clear understanding and knowledge of the teaching of phonics and early reading;
* Be able to contribute to the broader life of the school community;
* Positively promote inclusion and have high expectations for all children;
* Be resilient and hardworking and eager to learn, share and develop their practice
